An Awareness Seminar Against Drug Addiction was Held at Our Faculty of Engineering

An awareness seminar against drug addiction was held at Çankırı Karatekin University Faculty of Engineering, within the scope of the action plan prepared by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The seminar, organized with the contributions of the Turkish Drug and Drug Addiction Monitoring Center (TUBİM) Scientific Board, was given by the personnel of Çankırı Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate.

In the program, which attracted great interest from academic staff and students, the importance of awareness and early awareness in the fight against addiction was emphasized.

In the seminar; While the physical, psychological and social effects of drug use on the individual, family and society were discussed, information was shared about the studies carried out especially to protect young people against the risk of addiction.

In addition, how the addiction process begins, risk factors, prevention methods and the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in the fight were emphasized.

In the presentation made by the personnel of the Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate, it was stated that family, educational institutions and the social environment play an important role in keeping young people away from harmful habits.

Participants were reminded that raising awareness in the fight against addiction is a social responsibility, and the importance of spreading healthy living awareness was emphasized.

At the end of the program, students had the opportunity to ask their questions to expert staff, and it was stated that the awareness-raising activities carried out at universities made a significant contribution to the preparation of young people for a safe and healthy future.
