Science and Design-Full Event from ÇAKÜ to Young Students

Assoc. Prof., Çankırı Karatekin University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemistry. Dr. "Soap Making Practice" event was held by Esra Yılmaz Mertsoy at Private Kırmızı Kalem Kindergarten within the scope of social contribution activities.

At the event held on April 30, 2026, little students had the opportunity to design their own soaps in a fun and educational environment.

During the application, students closely observed the production process by getting to know the materials used in soap making and shaped the prepared soaps according to their own preferences.

The event, which aims to increase children's scientific curiosity, develop their manual skills and learn production processes by experiencing, was held with great interest from the students.

Within the scope of the application, which featured colorful images, children both gained new information and had a pleasant time.

Assoc. Prof. made evaluations about the event. Dr. Drawing attention to the importance of creating scientific awareness at an early age, Esra Yılmaz Mertsoy said, "It is of great importance to support children's curiosity about science and make learning fun. Thanks to such practical activities, students not only experience the joy of producing but also learn by experiencing how the products they use in daily life are created. We are extremely pleased with the interest and excitement our little students showed in the event." he said.
