Meaningful Event from ÇAKÜ Ecology Community to World Environment Day

"Move, Make a Difference: Uluyazı Plogging Event" organized by Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) Ecology Community within the scope of June 5 World Environment Day was held with intense participation.

At the event, which brought together environmental cleaning and physical activity, students, academic staff and volunteers came together to raise environmental awareness and draw attention to environmental awareness. The march, which started in front of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, continued along a route of approximately 4 kilometers and ended at the Çankırı-Kastamonu Ring Road Junction.

Volunteers from TEMA Foundation Çankırı Provincial Representation also supported the event. The work carried out together by university students, academic staff and TEMA volunteers revealed a successful example of social solidarity and inter-institutional cooperation for the protection of the environment.

During the walk, various wastes on the route were collected and contributed to environmental cleanliness. At the end of the event, many garbage bags, as well as tires, plastic and different types of bulky waste were removed from the environment. The amount of waste collected revealed the extent of environmental pollution and once again demonstrated the importance of increasing social awareness about the environment.

At the event held on the occasion of World Environment Day, it was emphasized that protecting the environment is the common responsibility of not only institutions but also all individuals. Participants pointed out that protecting natural resources, disseminating sustainable living habits and making environmentally friendly behaviors a part of daily life are of great importance in leaving a more livable world to future generations.

Çankırı Karatekin University Ecology Community stated that it aims to continue activities and awareness activities that will contribute to the development of environmental awareness in the coming periods.
