Public Statement

The regulation on the death penalty adopted by the Israeli Parliament and directly targeting the Palestinian people; It is an extremely worrying development in terms of human rights, the right to life, human dignity and universal law principles.

Right to life; It is the most fundamental and indispensable right that cannot be abolished due to language, religion, identity or political reasons. Any approach targeting this right not only violates the fundamental rights of individuals; It also causes serious damage to international law, conscientious responsibility and common values ​​of humanity.

When the long-standing human rights violations against the Palestinian people are evaluated together with practices that threaten the security and right to life of civilians; The regulation in question may further aggravate the humanitarian tragedy that has already deepened in the region. Such steps have unacceptable consequences in terms of justice, peace and human conscience.

As Çankırı Karatekin University; We respectfully express to the public that we are against any practice targeting the right to life, with the responsibility of a higher education institution based on human dignity, fundamental rights and freedoms, the rule of law and the understanding of universal justice. We invite the international community to take a more sensitive, concrete and determined stance on protecting human rights, ensuring the security of civilians and uncompromisingly defending the principles of universal law. Under the guidance of science, conscience and human responsibility; We respectfully inform the public that we will continue to defend human dignity, justice and fundamental rights with determination.
