Global Academic Move from ÇAKÜ: Strategic Contacts at NAFSA 2026
Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) attended the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference and Fair, one of the most important international organizations in the field of higher education, and made important contacts to develop international cooperation.
Participating in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference and Fair held in Orlando, USA between 26-29 May 2026, within the scope of the Turkish Universities Pavilion established under the coordination of the Turkish National Agency, Çankırı Karatekin University came together with university representatives, academicians and educational institutions from different countries of the world.
Rector Prof. attended the event on behalf of the university. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. M. Nuri Öner and Erasmus Coordinator Assoc. Dr. Semih Ediş attended. In the meetings held during the conference; The issues of developing academic collaborations, increasing student and staff mobility, supporting joint research activities and expanding international project opportunities were discussed.
Çankırı Karatekin University stand at the fair was met with great interest from international participants. Within the scope of the bilateral meetings, new cooperation opportunities with higher education institutions from different countries were evaluated and views were exchanged on the development of existing partnerships.
Making evaluations regarding NAFSA 2026, Çankırı Karatekin University Rector Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş stated that internationalization has a strategic importance for today's higher education institutions. Karataş said, "NAFSA 2026 is an important organization that brings together higher education institutions from different geographies of the world on the same platform. Such events make significant contributions to the development of academic collaborations between universities, increasing student and staff mobility and implementing joint projects. As Çankırı Karatekin University, we see internationalization as one of our main goals, and we continue our work with determination to establish stronger collaborations on a global scale in the fields of education, research and cultural interaction." he said.
Karataş stated that the meetings held within the scope of the fair increased the international visibility of the university and paved the way for the establishment of new partnerships, and that they aim to turn the contacts into concrete collaborations in the coming period.
NAFSA 2026, which brings together higher education representatives from all over the world, provides the opportunity to share knowledge and experience between institutions, and has also become an important platform for developing the international cooperation capacity of Çankırı Karatekin University.
